The Roder Family

Our story

Dad really wanted longhorns...

Our farm has been family-owned for over 250 years. Originally under the name of König, cows were kept on our farm already very early on. At the beginning of the 20th century, Johann Georg König strongly promoted the Allgäu brown cattle breeding.

Christa and Siegbert took over the farm in 1998 and continued to run it a classic Allgäu dairy farm.

In the course of further training, Siegbert met a colleague who owned Texas Longhorns - and since then the idea to keeping his own bunch of the Texas Longhorn has never quite got out of his head. Then, in 2017, the time had finally come, the two cows Rose and Kaycee were the first Texas Longhorns to come to our farm.

And who are we?

Christa, Siegbert

Dominika, Raphaela & Felizitas

We are a family of 5, the parents and their 3 daughters. Raised on the farm, we look after chickens, our cat and of course the Texas Longhorns.

Amongst our family, we share a joy for traveling (preferably with the camper), and spending time in nature.
